Colonial District's
Program Launch

Saturday morning is Program Launch at Camp Snyder. Mark and Jim were
looking for directions, so I'm guessing others are too. I'll use the
opportunity to encourage more folks to come.

Remember that those who did not pre-register need to bring $5.00.

Following is a list of units with at least one leader who has pre-registered
for Program Launch. If you can manage in one day, each unit that hasn't
pre-registered needs to find a leader who can make their way to Camp Snyder
to see the new camp, pick up their materials, and hopefully get some great
ideas for next year's programs. I realize this is a last-minute request,
but unit commissioners and ADCs who are able - please come if you can,
particularly if nobody else from your unit is able to go.

What: "Scouting 2000" Council Program Launch
Date: Saturday, May 8, 1999
Time: 9-11 a.m. - VA*
                     1-3 p.m. - MD/DC*
                     *(these are recommended times)
Place: Camp Snyder, Haymarket, VA

The following directions to camp Snyder were given by Mike Cavalero to Old
Dominion and Patriot OA a couple of weeks ago. I am hoping there will be
signs once you get close.
The only caveat is that Mike and Randy Falkofske fought on-line like three
year olds - make that four year olds - for a day or two about whether or
not they were exactly the right directions. (They've had a nice schtick
going for years - if you have time for laughs, read the attachment).

If somebody knows these to be wrong, exxxpecially Mike or Randy, please let
the group know.

Take I-66 West past Manassas to Exit 40 (Haymarket), at the top of the
exit ramp turn LEFT onto Rt. 15 South, cross over I-66 and then take an
immed. RIGHT turn onto Rt. 55 West, after about 5/8 mi. turn RIGHT onto
Antioch Rd. (SR 681), cross back over I-66 and the entrance to Camp
Snyder is on the LEFT (watch for signs!).
